Grand Prom ad leads hot drinks thanks to its significant retail value share within coffee held by its Grand brand. Vispak dd ranks second with its coffee brand Zlatna Dzezva while Plantago doo leads within tea thanks to the strong presence of its eponymous tea brand.
Due to the significance of fresh ground coffee in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is the main ingredient when preparing traditional Turkish style coffee, traditional grocery retailers dominate the distribution of hot drinks. However, modern grocery channels continue to increase their retail value share as they consolidate their position.
Foodservice sales of hot drinks continue to recover in 2022 and should reach back to pre-pandemic volume levels in 2023. All categories are seeing recovery after pandemic restrictions curbed sales in 2020 with foodservice nearly back to full operations in 2022.
Convenience and health and wellness are set to impact the future growth of hot drinks. Consumer demand for convenience will be most visible through the strong growth of fresh ground coffee pods and tea pods.
