During 2021, beauty specialists regained most of the ground they had lost during the previous year, as trading conditions normalised.
As smartphone ownership and social media use increase among young Moroccans, influencers are playing an increasingly important role in the marketing of colour cosmetics. These influencers provide make-up tutorials and often evangelise their favourite brands.
The rate of growth in retail constant value sales of colour cosmetics will gradually accelerate over the course of the forecast period and be broadly in line with the review period. While eye make-up and facial make-up will continue to account for the bulk of retail value sales, colour cosmetics sets/kits will be the most dynamic category.
